Our story & vision
The grape variety that is cultivated, almost exclusively, is “XINOMAVRO”, the main red variety of Macedonia, which in the Amyntaio region shows perfect adaptability and brings out all its aromatic and versatile character. In recent years, cosmopolitan varieties such as Syrah, Merlot, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Gewurztraminer have been added to its wine range. The production of the vineyards, as far as Xinomavro is concerned, ranges from 7.5 to 9 tons per hectare, while for the foreign varieties, the yield ranges from 9 to 11 tons per hectare.
The aromatic and versatile character of Xinomavro, due to the high altitude, enables the production of a wide variety of wines. Sparkling whites and rosés, whites, rosés, reds, early drinking reds and aging reds. High acidity characterizes all the wines produced, a phenomenon that intensifies in difficult years and decreases in exceptional ones, such as 1994, 2005 and 2007.
