A Celebration of Culture and Community
Join us for Amyndea, one of the most anticipated cultural events in the municipality, held annually in the charming town of Amyntaio at the end of August. This vibrant celebration is a testament to the rich heritage and dynamic spirit of our community, offering a diverse array of festivities for locals and visitors alike.
Experience the boiling of Tsipouro
Step into the heart of tradition and join us for the Boiling of Tsipouro, an integral part of the area’s cultural and financial heritage. Nestled amidst the rolling hills and vineyards of our region, this annual ritual brings together producers and guests alike for a celebration of craftsmanship, camaraderie, and culinary delights.

Xino Nero Carnival
The local administration organises every year the carnival events of Xino Nero that last 5 days. The events include traditional dances, costume ball and street parades.
The events reach their peak on the last Sunday of the carnival. On carnival monday morning, at location Pefka, people throw kites. A local orchestra plays folk music. The people can enjoy, in this wonderful location, the traditional bread “lagana”, the famous bean soup “fassolada”, traditional halva and wine, which are offered to everyone free of charge.

Join us for Kourbani, a cherished tradition observed on the 26th and 27th of July in the homonymous municipal department, coinciding with St. Pandeleimona day. This special occasion brings together the community to honor tradition, share in the spirit of giving, and celebrate the rich cultural heritage of our region.

Tsiri - Tsiri Varvara
A Fiery Celebration of Tradition and Resilience
Join us for Tsiri-Tsiri Varvara, a time-honored custom observed in Amyndeo on December 3rd, with origins tracing back to Roman times. This vibrant celebration pays homage to Saint Varvara, commemorating her miraculous escape from being burned alive. As we gather to honor her bravery and resilience, Tsiri-Tsiri Varvara becomes a testament to the enduring spirit of our community.
